India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah made a surprise appearance at Coldplay’s second concert in Ahmedabad on Sunday, January 26. While Coldplay mesmerised the audience at the Narendra Modi Stadium with their chart-topping hits, it was Bumrah’s presence that stole the spotlight among cricket afficianados. On the field, all was not well in his last appearance for the nation but he looks pumped up for a musical night in his hometown.

Adding to the spectacle, Coldplay honored Bumrah during their show. His Test jersey was displayed on stage, a tribute to the cricketer’s immense contribution to Indian cricket. Chris Martin, the band’s lead singer, has frequently expressed admiration for Bumrah, previously hailing him as “number one in the world.” This isn’t the first time Coldplay has celebrated Bumrah—Chris Martin had previously hyped the pacer during their Mumbai concerts, even showcasing a clip of Bumrah dismissing England’s Ollie Pope.
