It surely came as a heartbreak for Shreyas Iyer, who was snubbed from the BCCI’s central contract in February 2024. Despite having a wondrous ODI World Cup 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India axed him and Ishan Kishan from the central contract. But now, there are murmurs about Iyer being a certainty for the contract that is most likely to get announced by the end of March.
According to the Times of India, Shreyas Iyer’s name has been approved, and the current Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain will be a guarantee among BCCI’s central contract list players. “Shreyas is set to regain his contract, and it will be in a top category. However, discussions are still ongoing on whether in Ishan’s case,” a source told TOI.
